When comparing brokers, trading costs are a significant factor. We consider the minimum deposit required to open an account and ongoing costs, including spreads and commissions. We measure the cost to trade one lot of EUR/USD using the broker’s account with the lowest minimum deposit, including both the spread and any commission charged.
We found that FOREX.com has overall lower trading costs than Fortrade.
Trading Platforms Offered Traders prefer brokers that offer a variety of trading platforms. We rate brokers higher if they support multiple platforms like MetaTrader4, MetaTrader5, cTrader, and proprietary platforms.
Copy trading is beneficial for beginner traders or those unable to trade full-time. In this case both FOREX.com and Fortrade offer copy trading.

We favor brokers that process withdrawals within 24 hours using multiple methods without charging fees.We found that FOREX.com charges a withdrawal fee and Fortrade does not. Overall, FOREX.com has better deposit and withdrawal processes than Fortrade.Â
We often find that brokers offer very little in the way of educational materials, forcing traders to use other third-party sites or self-educate elsewhere. Beginner traders need well-structured, well-presented materials in multiple formats to get a good start at trading. More experienced traders also benefit from webinars led by experts in the field and advanced trading strategy sections with new trading ideas.Â
FOREX.com has better educational support than Fortrade. Both FOREX.com and Fortrade offer educational support for more experienced traders.Access to frequent and high-quality market research and analysis is crucial.
We found that FOREX.com offers better research analysis than Fortrade and that both FOREX.com and Fortrade offer frequent webinars.
Founded in 2001, FOREX.com is a well-regulated broker with high minimum deposits and low fees that is more suited to serious beginners and more experienced traders. Beginners with low minimum deposits will be put off by the high trading costs on FOREX.com's entry-level Standard and MT5 accounts. But experienced traders will be interested in the Commission and DMA accounts, with minimum deposits of 100 USD and 25,000 USD respectively. These accounts have some of the most competitive spreads (0.0 pips on the EUR/USD) combined with some of the lowest commissions in the industry.Â
FOREX.com provides support for MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, and its own trading platform and experienced traders will appreciate the range of trading tools on offer, including Autochartist, Trading Central, Trading View, SMART Signals, and subsidised VPS hosting.
Education and market analysis are both excellent and experienced traders will appreciate the wide range of tradable assets, including over 91 currency pairs, 4500 share CFDs, commodities, indices, precious metals, and cryptocurrencies.
Overall, FOREX.com ticks all the boxes for those with higher minimum deposits looking for a wide range of assets to trade and a choice of trading platforms.
Fortrade may appeal to traders who prefer a simple account structure and a wide variety of CFDs to trade. However, traders should be aware that Fortrade’s trading costs are significantly higher than other similar brokers. Its single commission-free account has a low minimum deposit requirement of 100 USD, but extremely wide spreads that average at 2.00 pips on the EUR/USD.Â
Fortrade offers a diverse range of trading assets, including specialty CFDs such as bonds and stock DMAs that are rarely found at other brokers. Its trading platforms include MetaTrader 4 and a user-friendly proprietary platform, optimised for both desktop and mobile trading.Â
Fortade’s education and analysis section is comprehensive and will be useful for beginner and advanced traders alike, with frequent in-house market analysis of the European and US sessions.
